Inspiration and bedding set

I realized that I haven't put much up here about where some of my ideas came from and I did not put up the bedding set!

Here is the bedding set:

I love the owls on this one (and the hedgehog and squirrel, too).

I can't wait to put everything together!

Still making progress!

Today, we were very productive!  The trim is now up in the nursery, which means all we have left to do is paint the trim (well, and a few other projects, but we'll get there!)

Dad and Grandpa Frank working hard on the trim!  More pictures to come later :)

I haven't been able to do as much for Olivia's room.  I've been busy making some gifts for other babies soon to be born!  Liv is going to have lots of little friends this year :)

Burp cloths for Maggie - she'll be here in less than a month!

More burp cloths - part of a gift for a shower coming soon.  Baby M will be here in two months...and judging by the pattern so far at work (3 girls!), it will be a surprise if it's a boy and not another girl :)

A diaper tote for Baby K, who is due in 6 weeks.  Another mystery baby - 3/5 are girls, so we will find out soon!
The start of closet dividers for Baby M

And, since I felt bad because I hadn't made anything for Olivia, I made a quick fleece blanket today.

I also made two Boppy covers and bibs to match the burp cloths, but I didn't have time to make the bias tape and finish them today.  Hopefully, I'll find a little time this week to work on it and finish up some stuff for the nursery.  Andrew and I are a little worried that it felt like we had plenty of time a month ago, and now it feels like she'll be here very soon!

Because our 20 week scan was such a negative experience, we've decided to do the elective ultrasound at the end of February instead of waiting until March.  Hopefully we'll have better scans than we had at Christmas for the shower (and a mostly finished nursery...)

PS - If cravings have anything to do with what Liv is going to eat, she's going to love peaches, strawberries, bananas, and cookie dough ice cream ;)

Another picture of me :)

It's a little old now (it's from a month ago at the 20 week appointment), but it's the newest one!

Nursery Update #3

We're still going on Olivia's room; it's coming along slowly, but surely.  Right now, the three big projects we have left are the second coat of paint, the open closet shelving thing (that one is definitely Andrew's) and the trim.  After that, lots of little things, but no more demolition or total chaos!  Here are some photos of our progress and one of my little craft projects for Olivia.

This is part of the picture frames that I made for her room:

I bought some of the unfinished wood frames from Ikea (3 for $1.99), painted them, and put scrapbook paper in these two.  The other frames have animal cutouts (owl, bird, hedgehog) to match her room.  I'm hoping to make most of the artwork for her room.

Here's Andrew working hard to rip out the trim!

What would I do without him? :)

Nasty carpet is out and so is the dark trim...finally!

Andrew still working hard (don't be fooled by him sitting down on the job!)

Preview of the white trim (don't mind the paint job...still one more coat to go)

The finished floor.  We can't wait to see what it looks like with everything finished and cleaned up!

We don't have everything together yet, but here is a picture of our crib and changing table:

More updates to come soon :)

Nursery update #2

No major changes in the nursery, but here are the photos I couldn't get to upload yesterday:

Andrew's idea

He carved her name and birth year into the wood!  He also said that when we have our next one, he'll carve its name into the board, too.  The only other times I've seen him this excited is when he's buying a new car, gun, or TV.

As a bonus, Olivia's picture on New Year's Eve - we are very excited to meet her!

Nursery update

We have been working hard on Olivia's nursery this week; we were trying to take advantage of the little bit of time I have off from work.  I tried to remember to take pictures in the early stages, too (which I'm the worst about.)  We are not done yet, but we're getting there!

Here are some of the before pictures of the nursery when it was a guest bedroom (most of the stuff I had in there is almost out):

After a day of taking all of my girly guest room decorations out, we started to paint (which is still not done yet because no house project goes well.)

Shelby was sad that she wasn't able to come in and help; she could only watch from the door :)

After a little convincing that it is okay to paint a girl's room blue, we finally found our aqua (Benjamin Moore - Arctic Blue).

Gracie was practicing her best ASPCA adoption face.  As you can tell, she is often neglected at our house.

Andrew's ability to paint the corners up to the ceiling makes me a little jealous.  I can barely reach the  top of the closet doors without a stool.
I promise I wear a mask every time I paint...the strap is under my hair right now.
Emily came over to help, too!

We also picked up our crib from the store today (a gift from Grandma & Grandpa) and Andrew was excited to build it because he had something extra special planned for Olivia  Unfortunately, I can't get the pictures to load, so hopefully I'll be able to share it with you all tomorrow!

Hanging out

My mom no longer looks like she's drinking too much beer; I have officially bumped out!  One day, she looked frumpy, the next day, she was able to park in the expectant mother spots at the mall.

Here's what I've done to mom (in case you haven't seen her):

I also had my 20 week check up, and everything looks great.  I'm average which is perfectly fine with my mom and dad.  Right now, one due date is May 16th, but as of my last appointment, the doctor is thinking I might be here on/around May 9th.

I'm officially a girl and my official name is Olivia.  My Auntie Jen took beautiful pictures to share it with my family for Christmas - can you imagine how pretty she will make me look someday soon?

Work on the nursery has started this week - more pictures to come!
